Are you ready for termite season?

Is there a circus in town? No, this home has been tented due to termite infestation. Learn how to protect your home from termites in the guide Termite Control Methods. Photo by Randy McEoin.

Termites cause billions¹ of dollars of damage in the US alone each and every year. Over 600 000 American homes are infested annually. As a homeowner you need to know how to prevent this, as well as what to do in the case of a termite infestation.

Knowledge and prevention is the best insurance you can have against termites. Because due to the tricky nature of these nasty little pests, few home insurance policies will cover termite damage (you should check with your insurance company).

Underestimating termites is an easy mistake to make. You may find it unlikely that these small, ant-like creatures would attack your home. This is a huge mistake.

Because not only are termites not ants, but the statistics are absolutely terrifying – hundreds of thousands of Americans are caught off guard by these sophisticated insects every year. In many cases they do a lot of damage before even being discovered.

Termite attacks are heaviest in the southern parts of the US, but termites exist in all states except Alaska. Which species you will have to deal with depends on where you live.

The guide Termite Control Methods is you personal guide on termite control. It will teach you everything you need to know in preventing, detecting and eliminating the termite threat.

The quickest and easiest way to a well-organized home

Image of a clean kitchen

One of the messy hot spots you learn to take care of in How To Declutter Your Home – the kitchen.

Do you have a room in your home that is so cluttered you feel embarrassed? Maybe it is a messy kitchen or garage filled with everything under the sun (except a car). Well – it may sound cliche – but it isn’t your fault. You just haven’t discovered the simple strategy of a well-organized home.

I am certainly not one of those pedantically organized people either. Quite the opposite in fact. I’ve always been one of those guys who wonder where the heck all these piles of papers, books and assorted knickknacks on my desk came from. Likewise with everything from garden shed to sock drawer.

I’ve never liked it this way, but there always seems to be more important and fun things to do. And even if you clean something up, in a few weeks it’s one big mess yet again. As a young adult I  almost resigned to the idea that I just wasn’t very good at organizing stuff. Since I’m not a slob otherwise, it was a significant blow to my self esteem.

Then I had a bad dream that changed everything.

Or to be more exact, thanks to my dream someone finally revealed the secrets of a well-organized home to me. They are super easy and they work.

Read the full story about how I learned the three simple steps to a well-organized home here, and how you can do the same.

Going green for the sake of your own family

Family of three image

A healthy happy family is something we all want. Going green can be a freat part of that.

What if I told you about something that could help you: save money, get healthier, kick bad habits, lose weight and enjoy life more… that would probably peek your curiosity, wouldn’t it?

And no, I am not talking about a gym membership – it’s a book on going green!

Going green, in other words making a constant effort to make more eco friendly choices, is often motivated with that “it’s our responsibility” and other moral arguments.

But what if going green is actually a smart choice for everybody, even if you aren’t exactly the “tree hugging activist” type of person?

The guide Eco Friendly Homes – 101 Easy Ways To Go Green clearly explains the environmental reasons for being eco friendly. But more interestingly it reveals how going green can actually improve your life.
